The Fantasista Exhibition was a celebration of contemporary football art, inspired by the rapid rise of the ‘football artist’ in the digital age. Organiser Richard Swarbrick brought together a group of artists (including myself), whose work he felt encapsulated the world’s most popular game.
The exhibition looked to examine both the movement and poetry of the game, as well as the culture and business that surrounds it. Attendees were also encouraged to consider the similarities between the elitist, big money worlds of art and soccer.
High profile names included Sir Peter Blake, Stanley Chow and Otto Li, as well as a host of upcoming and established names. The exhibition ran from July 11th – 14th 2013 at the Cello Factory in Central London and was covered in the national press at the time.
